Pre-Fit Recoil Pad
Instructions |
- With the muzzle pointing in a safe direction, ensure your firearm
is unloaded and remove the old recoil pad.
- Each Pre-Fit kit is supplied with all the parts and hardware
required for installation. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, and
in some cases, a smooth-faced hammer, hand drill, and wood-filler to
complete the installation.
- Please note: Gunstocks do vary in size. The pads are manufactured
to fit the optimum stock. You may notice the pad being slightly
larger or smaller than your stock in some areas.
- Please note: For those Pre-Fit kits with adapter plates, the angle
at the toe of adapters are designed to match the angle of the stock
and the threaded nuts have a larger diameter on the side facing the
stock.

Pre-Fit recoil pads for synthetic stocks supplied with a single
adapter plate
- Place the adapter on the stock. Note the angle at the toe should
match the stock.
- Attach the adapter to the stock using the one or two coarse thread
screws, as required, by inserting the screw(s) through the
countersunk hole(s) of the adapter that line up with the screw
hole(s) of the stock. Screw head should match the counter sink.
- Attach the Pre-Fit Decelerator recoil pad using the one or two
remaining screws.

Pre-Fit recoil pads for synthetic stocks supplied with two adapter
plates
- Assemble the small and large adapter by inserting the one or two
coarse thread screws through the counter sunk hole of the large
adapter and pass it through the corresponding hole(s) of the small
adapter.
- Place the pre-assembled unit on the stock and tighten the adapters
down.
- Attach the Pre-Fit Decelerator recoil pad using the one or two
fine thread screws. Note that the fine thread screws pass through
the large adapter and attach to the small adapter. The threaded nuts
on the small adapter should face the stock.

Pre-Fit recoil pads for wood stocks
- Place the pad, or adapter (model 01712 only) on the stock in
proper position. Insert the supplied drill through the pre-drilled
holes and tap lightly to mark the stock where the new holes are to
be drilled. Please note that it may be necessary to fill the old
screw holes prior to assembly.
- Drill the new holes straight and parallel until the drill stop
meets the stock. For best results, remove the drill after each
1/4" plunge to clear out wood chips.
- Insert the plastic anchors and set fully, and flush, using a
smooth-face hammer.
- Attach the Pre-Fit Decelerator recoil pad, and adapter (model
01712 only), using the coarse thread screws.
