Pachmayr Grips

Q: What makes Pachmayr grips better than other brands of grips?
A: Feel, appearance and strength. Pachmayr grips are made of rubber, which offers better gripability, better recoil absorption and improved gun control over those made of other materials, such as Santoprene. They feature a steel insert which makes for an extremely strong, durable grip. Pachmayr offers a variety of grip styles for many applications and hand sizes.

Q: I like the look of the wooden grips, but I really like the feel of rubber grips. Is there a compromise between the two?
A: Yes, we have 1911 American Legend Grips for just this purpose. With a fine Rosewood grip chassis and a wrap around Decelerator rubber grip, this grip will offer you the "best of both worlds".

Q: I need a grip specifically for a semi-auto that will provide me with control during rapid fire. What do you recommend?
A: Our Signature grips would be ideal for this application. These offer a full wrap around design (except for 1911 models which have a grip safety) with steel inserts to maintain its shape.

Q: I need a grip for a revolver that fully covers the backstrap. This is not the model I use for concealed carry, and I don’t have small hands. What do you recommend?
A: The ideal grip for this application would be either the Gripper or the Gripper Decelerator. These both offer a covered backstrap, finger grooves, a slight palm swell and are fully checkered. The Decelerator model is a softer rubber material which is excellent for recoil absorption.

Q: I want a basic, hand filling, traditional style grip for my revolver. Do you carry something like this?
A: Our original Presentation style is the perfect match for you. The Presentation grip offers classic styling with deep checkering for control.

Q: I have a small compact revolver that needs an aftermarket grip desperately. Have you any suggestions?
A: The Compac grip will be your best option for this. It is small enough to not compromise concealability, while still providing a grip large enough for control. These grips have covered backstraps and a secure non-slip surface.

Q: I have very small hands. All the revolvers I try don’t feel right as they feel so cumbersome. Have you any grips that can help?
A: For individuals with small hands, your best selection would be either the Gripper Professional or the Compac Professional. These are the smallest Pachmayr grips available. These have an open backstrap and the overall shape has been downsized 10%.

Q: I have a semi-auto that I am not real happy with the way the grip feels. It is a bit large for my hand and I do not want to spend a lot of money as this wasn’t a real expensive gun in the first place. What do you recommend?
A: A simple solution for this would be the economical Slip-On grips. These are easy to install and come in a variety of sizes to fit most semi-auto pistols.

Q: I have some Pachmayr grips. What is the best way to keep them looking their best?
A: We recommend wiping them with Armor All.
